The Specific e-service
The EPSO Candidate Contact Service is operated under the responsibility of the Controller, Minna Vuorio, Director of the European Personnel Selection Office. The EPSO Candidate Contact Service is an information service for citizens and candidates which provides direct, personalised answers and/or refers citizens to other relevant sources of information or advice on questions pertaining to the selection of personnel for the European Union's Institutions. Where appropriate, the citizens are directed to an official of the EU institutions or another body who should be able to solve their particular problems.
This processing is based on decision n° 2002/620/CE of the European Parliament, the Council, the European Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of Auditors, the European Economic and Social Committee, the Committee of the Regions and the European Ombudsman of 25 July 2002 culminating in the creation of the European Personal Selection Office.
The following personal data are collected via the online form:
Mandatory fields: first name, last name, title, e-mail address, candidate number (where applicable), preferred languages for communication;
Optional field: telephone number

Who has access to your information and to whom is it disclosed?
The Commission officials in charge of the EPSO Candidate Contact Service have access to your data. Your enquiry is stored on the server of the European Commission, processed and may also be forwarded by email to the expert responsible for replying to the enquiry.

How do we protect and safeguard your information?
Inside the European Personnel Selection Office, the data can only be accessed by designated officials.
The operations of the servers on which personal data is stored underlie the European Commission's security decisions and provisions established by the Directorate of Security for this kind of servers and services.
How can you verify, modify or delete your information?
You have no direct access to the data stored in our server. If you wish to delete your personal data, or want to know what personal data is stored on your behalf please send a message via the enquiry form.
How long do we keep your data?
All the personal data received are stored on our server until they are erased at the end of the applicable retention period. This period is 2 years, counting from the receipt of the data by EPSO, for citizens who are not candidates. If you are a candidate, please refer to the specific privacy statement of your competition / selection procedure for the relevant retention periods.

Should you consider that your rights have been infringed by EPSO when processing your personal data, you can lodge a complaint with the European Data Protection Supervisor.
