Below are some examples of how EPSO turns equal opportunities into a working reality:
- All selection procedures consistently apply an equal opportunities policy and respect EU and international anti-discrimination legislation including the implementation of the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (UNCRPD).
- Reasonable accommodations for candidates with specific needs due to a disability or a medical condition are provided.
- Impartiality is the overarching principle that guides the work of EPSO’s Selection Boards. Selection Board members are appointed from diverse backgrounds to ensure balance in terms of gender, age, nationalities, languages, etc. They are trained to the highest professional standards of selection and on objective and bias-free assessment methods.
In this way, EPSO endeavours to ensure that all candidates have the same possibilities and access to its selection procedures.
Further EPSO actions include:
- Carrying out systematic statistical analysis and monitoring of test items in order to ensure standardised and objective competency-based methods and assessments.
- Collecting systematic feedback from candidates via satisfaction surveys allowing EPSO to improve continuously.
- Performing anonymised CV screenings and markings of written tests based on objective criteria only.
- Performing accessibility screenings of EPSO’s communication, selection procedures and tests. If necessary, EPSO produces adapted formats accessible to assistive technology.
