Select a profile of your interest

In the Finance profile, you may be recruited in function groups II, III and IV and carry out a large variety of duties. For example:

As FGII you may prepare financial files and act as initiating agent in the financial circuits; provide clerical and administrative assistance relating to calls for proposals/tender; help with the processing of financial information and reporting; assist with accounting and audit-related tasks.

As FGIII you may be dealing with financial initiation and verification; provide support in the frame of calls for proposals and tenders; manage financial information; assist with accounting and audit management.

As FGIV you may be involved in budget and finance planning, reporting, analysis, coordination and follow-up; perform tasks related to audit analysis and support.

As FGIII you may deal with the planning, monitoring, evaluation and closure of projects and programmes; perform tasks related to external communication and public information, among other duties.

As FGIV you may promote, evaluate and negotiate calls for proposals and tenders; plan, monitor, evaluate and close projects and programmes; be involved in internal, external communication, among other tasks.

In the Secretaries/Clerks profile, you may be recruited in function group II and carry out a large variety of duties. For example:

As FGII you may perform secretarial tasks such as organising meetings; managing files; preparing business trips; monitoring correspondence and keeping a diary of appointments. You may also assist with drafting memos, notes, minutes of meetings as well as perform document presentation duties such as page layout, formatting and tables.

In the Administration / Human Resources profile, you may be recruited in function groups II, III or IV and carry out a large variety of duties. For example:

As FGII you may assist with tasks related to selection and recruitment: launching calls and publications; processing applications; organising selection boards; following up selection boards’ work; monitoring vacant posts; contributing to the preparation and follow-up of learning and development activities.

As FGIII you may contribute to administrative and human resource management functions, including the management of selection and recruitment files; help with the preparation and launch of promotion and reclassification exercises; contribute to the conception of new learning and development activities.  

As FGIV you may contribute to setting-up and implementing management plans; supervise selection and recruitment files; coordinate periodical reporting and data analysis; supervise and verify legal and financial commitments in connection with projects; advise and coordinate with services on the basis of their annual HR strategies.

As FGIII you may follow-up on policy developments; formulate reports or speaking notes on policy files; contribute to parliamentary questions. You may also be involved in the preparation of meetings with stakeholders and draw policy conclusions; represent the institution or the Directorate General at meetings, under the supervision of the Head of Unit or policy officer.

As FGIV you may monitor and report on the political, economic and social situation in a given country; contribute to the preparation of high-level visits and missions with third countries and civil society; participate in international meetings and in the negotiations of international agreements. In addition, you may write policy papers about the area assigned as well as answer questions by Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).

As FGIII you may examine pre-litigation files; perform tasks related to court proceedings; prepare position statements; contribute to the analysis and preparation of draft opinions and legal notes; write draft replies to requests and complaints addressed to the Appointing Authority by officials and agents.

As FGIV you may represent the institution in disputes and, where appropriate, in cases before the Court of Justice of the European Union; you may provide advice and opinions on legal, institutional and procedural questions; draft replies to requests and complaints addressed to the Appointing Authority by officials and agents.

As FG IV, you may translate into your primary language from at least two other languages (mainly English and/or French); revise translations; provide linguistic advice; manage linguistic projects and workflow; research terminology and create/maintain term bases, among other tasks.

As FGI you may perform manual and administrative support service tasks under the supervision of officials or temporary staff. You may work in one of the following jobs available within the institutions: kitchen assistant/cook; waiter; warehouse staff; printing staff; floor messenger / meeting room attendant / office support staff / document management; building management; driver; mover; parliamentary usher or usher for other institutions; security and prevention officer; receptionist; dispatcher, communication and information systems technician / cabling agent.
