Why propose five languages for the Assessment Centre/ phase and not all the 24 official languages?

It is essential to have a limited number of vehicular languages to ensure that the candidates and the selection board can communicate with each other and that future recruits can work with their future colleagues.

The number of languages proposed by EPSO is a balance between the logistical and financial resources on the one hand, and the desire to allow a maximum of candidates to participate in the competition on the other hand. Having more (if not all) languages would involve an additional effort, disproportionate in relation to the number of additional candidates who could thus participate.
