First EPSO training conference in Luxembourg city

To raise the profile of Luxembourg city as a great place to live and work for the EU, this year, for the first time, EPSO organised its training conference for Student Ambassadors in Luxembourg city.

Some 150 enthusiastic and motivated student ambassadors joined the event, during which they had the opportunity to visit the many institutions based in Luxembourg and learn more about EU Careers, including EPSO's selection procedures. Some students started their programme already on Thursday with sightseeing tours of Luxembourg city. It was their first time in Luxembourg city and many conveyed to EPSO staff how pleasantly surprised they were with the city's beauty, walkability, free transport system and safety. For many it was also the first time that they realised that many EU institutions are solely based in Luxembourg or have significant numbers of staff based there too, not just in Brussels.

The training part of the programme focused on presentations and practical workshops about EU Careers and EPSO competitions, as well as on the art of public speaking and the use of social media. Students also met EPSO Staff Ambassadors based in Luxembourg and learned what it truly means to work in the EU institutions. Former student ambassadors shared useful advice with their newly-appointed counterparts on how to promote EU Careers effectively.

The EU Careers Student Ambassadors programme was designed and has been managed by EPSO since 2010. It includes some 180 universities in the 27 EU Member States. You can learn more about it on our website: EU Careers Student Ambassadors | EU Careers (europa.eu)
