In which language should I fill my application?

In general, candidates can fill in their application form in any of the 24 official EU languages.

However, EPSO encourages candidates to complete it in English, which makes resorting to translation unnecessary. Having the applications available in English - the language spoken by all Selection Board members - speeds up eligibility checks. In practice, many candidates to international careers have their CVs already available in English. All this will facilitate the search for suitable candidates during the recruitment phase.

For candidates who prefer to use another language, an automatic translation tool (eTranslation) is made available to help convert their input into English. eTranslation is a machine translation tool provided by the European Commission. Access to eTranslation is protected by the EU-Login service. Register here to use the tool.

To ensure the correctness of the translated text in their application form for which candidates are solely responsible, EPSO recommends that candidates carefully verify its content before they validate their application. Find further information on eTranslation at Translate statement page
